Started my Internship !!!

So I haven't written a post in a while but i guess your all wondering what I've been up to. Well as of Monday September 2nd I officially started working at the European Parliament ! Yea surprising & exciting, I know ! Lol. Not many people can say they get to intern here so I am beyond greatful & ready to experience everything & anything ! Here's a pic from my 1st day of work:

Also in between starting my internship, I've gone to a couple great restaurants & areas that I'm sure many others would enjoy.

Le Numero 6 Jours Or Day Number 6

So its Day 6 in Belgium and it honestly feels like Ive been here for at least two weeks. But on another note, I just have to share what I had for lunch today.  My roommates told me about a cheap pizza restaurant near Place Flagey which is like the little town park near our apartment. The place is called Mama Romas. You can get a slice of pizza with a drink for about 5-6 euros depending on the weight of your pizza. Now dont get me wrong I really enjoyed my slice of pizza, as did my friends but I still think New York pizza outruns Mama Romas.  On the other hand, this is a place Id definitely recommend if your looking for something quick and less pricey to eat.  The service was wonderful and the people who work here love when Americans try to practice their French.  Heres a little tease of Mama Romas !

My roommates and I also decided to get some ice cream at a little shop right next door after our trip to Mama Romas.  I had the chocolate` blanc ice cream which is white chocolate ice cream in French.  This I must say was delicious !

Creating post #2 now because Ive done quite a few since Ive been here in Belgium. Ive eaten different kinds of foods, ventured off to different places and just really want to share my 4 days of Belgian experiences. lol. I guess I'll start with food. & Im not sure about you all but I definitely LOVE to eat. Im a picky eater but I love to eat !

BELGIAN FOOD #1 - WAFFLES 

These waffles were in our apartment along with other food items to start us off. These are the greatest things ever invented. Like Eggos has nothing on Belgian waffles.  Its something about these that make me never want to eat a different kind of waffle again.  Like dont get me wrong Eggos waffles are good, but Belgian waffles are like Heaven! These waffles are sweet and perfect, Heaven wrapped in a little plastic wrapper. Something definitely worth trying ! 

Belgian Food #2 - Coffee

The Belgian coffee.  This is from a little restaurant near the Parliament buildings called Coco.  Along with the coffee you are given sugar (suker), some coffee creamers and a Belgian speculoos (a really amazing graham cracker tasting cookie).  The Belgian coffee seems to taste a lot stronger than American coffee but it definitely keeps you up.  According to our EPA director, this 1 cup of  Belgian coffee is like 2 cups of coffee.  Lately all Ive wanted to drink is coffee because its that good ! and these little cookies are to die for ! 

Belgian Food #3 - Lasagna

This little meal was about 11 euros and even though it was a little on the pricey side, it was amazing in taste.  I got this from a little Irish restaurant/pub off of Place Flagey which is just a little square surrounded by restaurants and pubs, etc. This was a beef lasagna with bread and salad.  So worth it ! Id definitely have this again !

Belgian Food #4 - Petit Belge, White Chocolate Ice Cream with Speculoos Biscuit and Hot Chocolate

This is the most amazing ice cream I have ever had.  Forget your Baskin Robins and Ben and Jerrys, Belgian Ice Cream is the most amazing ice cream on the planet ! This ice cream is topped with scrapings of Belgian white chocolate, the speculoos cookie like served with the coffee and some hot chocolate fudge to put on top of the white chocolate scrapings. I hope they have this in heaven ! lol.

First Few Days In Belgium

This is my current view in belgium, the view from my window actually.  Ive been here for about 4 days now and have finally been able to settle in and start this blog.  I want to be able to capture all of the moments while here in Belgium as I attend classes at Versalius College, intern with the European Parliament and travel with friends so I wont forget my experience. & those that know me know how forgetful I am so I think this little blog will be perfect. More importantly, those reading this will get a taste of this wonderful time that I have here on this EPA Program.
